Karnataka: Police Dog ‘Rambo’ Solves Murder Case In Just 24 Hours

In Karnataka, the police’s special dog ‘Rambo’ solved the mystery of a murder case within 24 hours. Yes, the slaughter was carried out on Monday in the Gadag district of Karnataka. And it was done by the special K-9 squad of Karnataka Police. Rambo, a special member of this squad, ran such that not one but four killers came under the arrest of the police. 

Gadag’s experienced K-9 unit on Tuesday successfully solved a murder case of a 60-year-old man within 24 hours with the help of police dog ‘Rambo’. The older man was murdered after being bludgeoned on the head with a stone in Hosalli village of Shiratti taluk in Karnataka. 

The district crime unit had kept the crime scene, and the K-9 team enabled its best canine, Rambo, to pursue the trail. Police said Rambo instantly tracked the accused’s house, where important evidence was found. The murderers were tracked and arrested without any delay.

On October 24, the victim was found dead near Hosahalli Village in Shirhatti Police station. Upon complaint by the victim’s son, police initiated a probe, and police dog Rambo and its handlers superbly did the job to arrest the murder accused within 24 hours.

The police investigation also found that the victim allegedly had an extra-marital affair with his neighbor. The accused were furious with the relationship and killed him.

In May this year, Karnataka Police inducted as many as 50 dogs into the police dog squad at Rs 2.5 crore to strengthen the force. Bengaluru Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao has said that the dog squad plays an essential role in detecting explosives, drugs, and even crime scenes.
