Healthy Dog Food Delivery Brand “Dog Standards” Launches In Canada

Today marks the formal debut of Dog Standards, a Toronto-based dog food brand. The brand will become one of the first in Canada to sell human-grade, veterinarian-developed, and preservative-free dog food directly to consumers.

Commercial pet food products, which prioritize profit over wellness, have earned the trust of pet owners. However, over 70% of dog owners say they have no idea what’s in the food they’re giving their pets.

The Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) establishes pet food standards, stating that meat labeled 4-D (dead, dying, diseased, or handicapped) may be used in dog food if rendered at high heat and pressure. The importance of a brand like Dog Standards is due to the lack of industry-wide quality assurance.

Dog Standards wants to inform dog owners about the health advantages of giving fresh food to their dogs, allowing them to live longer, healthier, and more productive lives. To provide a comprehensive and balanced diet, all Dog Standards meal plans are customized to each dog’s type, size, body weight, and level of physical activity.

Currently, Dog Standards offers three recipes: turkey, beef, and chicken. All of their dishes are made in professional kitchens in Canada and shipped in recyclable packaging with dry ice to keep them cool while shipping across the country.
