A woman was out for a morning walk with her pug inside Grand Omaxe Society in Sector 93B, Noida, when an unmuzzled Great Dane attacked them both. The footage from the society’s CCTV cameras shows the large dog knock the woman to the ground, then seize the pug and maul it. Bystanders tried to intervene. The pug did not survive.
The video went viral on October 11. The owner of the attacking dog had no muzzle on the animal inside the society premises. No action had been taken against them at the time of reporting.

What the CCTV Shows
The footage captures the moment the Great Dane, being walked inside the club area of Grand Omaxe, lunges at the pug and its owner. The woman is knocked down. The dog clamps onto the pug and does not let go despite attempts by those nearby to pull it away. The pug dies from the injuries.
The footage shows other residents also present in the area at the time.
Complaint Filed, Action Still Awaited
The pug’s owner called the police emergency helpline and followed up with a written complaint at the local police station. A complaint was also filed with the society’s apartment owners’ association.
As of the time of reporting, police action was pending. No case had been registered and no action had been taken against the owner of the Great Dane.
The Accountability Gap
This is a well-documented problem in India’s urban housing societies. Large and powerful dog breeds can be walked unmuzzled in shared spaces, in direct violation of society rules and Supreme Court guidelines on pet ownership in residential complexes. When attacks happen, complaints are filed, videos go viral, and residents wait for action that is slow to come.
A pug is dead. The owner has a complaint on record. The person responsible for the dog that caused it has so far faced no consequence.
