Most people planning a bike trip to Ladakh spend their time sorting out permits, checking tyre pressure, and figuring out altitude sickness tablets. Ridhi and Anurag had one extra problem: they could not bring themselves to leave Laddu and Scooby at home.
So they built something instead.
The couple designed and assembled a custom trolley that attaches to the back of their motorcycle, purpose-built to carry their two dogs on long road trips. The trolley has windows so Laddu and Scooby can peer out as the scenery changes, which, on the road to Ladakh, changes quite dramatically.
They are calling it India’s first dog bike trolley.

The Problem They Were Solving
Taking a dog on a motorcycle is not straightforward. You cannot strap a dog to a pillion seat, the animal cannot hold on, cannot signal discomfort, and has no protection from wind, dust, or an unexpected swerve. Standard pet carriers are built for air travel or car boots, not for the vibrations and exposure of a mountain highway.
What Ridhi and Anurag built addresses all of that. The trolley gives the dogs an enclosed, stable space with visibility, something that bridges the gap between “leaving them at home” and “bringing them along safely.” The windows mean the dogs are not travelling blind, which matters for animals who read their environment almost entirely through sensory input.
What This Opens Up
The couple did not build this just for themselves. After road-testing the trolley with their own dogs, they expanded it into something other pet owners could use as well, making it available beyond their own household.
For dog owners in India who ride motorcycles, the absence of a safe, practical solution has always meant a binary choice: take the car, or leave the dog. Ridhi and Anurag’s trolley is a direct answer to that. Whether it catches on more broadly will depend on how other pet-owning riders respond, but the appetite for travelling with dogs in India has grown significantly over the last few years, and the Ladakh road trip remains one of the most aspirational routes in the country.
Laddu and Scooby, for their part, got to see the Himalayas. That part worked out.
