St Columb Major, Cornwall – England, UK: The RSPCA is trying to help save two dogs – a blind dog and a dog who acts as her guide dog and never leaves her side.
Shih Tzu is seven years old and named Penny, and Jack Russell terrier is ten years old and named Sandy. Both were in poor condition when rescued by the RSPCA in Saint Columb, Cornwall.
Since being taken by the animal charity, they have grown together. Charity is trying to find someone to take care of them and build their confidence.
Sammy Howard, from RSPCA Cornwall, stated: “Penny is such a sweetheart and is more confident than her pal, even though she has restricted vision. However, she doesn’t let this hold her back and has a real zest for life.
“Sandy is her favorite fur-iend and acts almost like a guide dog, helping Penny get around. Penny is never far from her pal’s side.
“When they first arrived with us, Sandy was incredibly anxious and wouldn’t let anyone touch her. But, after about a week, we slowly managed to gain her trust, and she’s really started to come out of her shell. As Penny is so sociable, she helps Sandy with her confidence.”
This pair of two dogs friends are best for home with no other pets and calm kids.
“When these sweet dogs know you, they are so affectionate and will give you lots of love and kisses you could possibly want. They’ll make such wonderful pets and companions; we just need to find them the right home,” Sammy added.
