Stray Dogs Continue To Make Mohali Residents Uncomfortable

An elderly group of residents in Mohali has come up with a written statement to the Punjab Chief Minister, Charanjit Singh Channi, and the health minister. In the statement, they asked them to check up on the stray dog menace.

A resident of Sector 54, Mohali, Mr. HK Aggarwal led the effort. He said that both the pet and stray dogs caused problems like open defecation and loud barking. In a letter to the CM, he said that no state government or local body had done anything about the issue. He also said that there was no action taken despite it being part of the candidates’ manifesto at the time of local body elections.

In his letter to the CM, Mr. Aggarwal stated, “My appeal to the chief minister, Channi, is to please fulfil the promise of tackling the 24-hour burning issue of menace created by stray as well as pet dogs. The priority agenda of the ruling party is in the manifestos of all winning candidates in the local body elections held last February 2021. “

The complaint was based on the elderly needing peaceful sleep but being disturbed by the howling and barking of the stray dogs.
