Dog Dies In Noida Due to Cracker Burns

On Monday afternoon, a dog died in Dankaur after suffering a significant head injury and burns, prompting suspicion that firecrackers may have exploded near the animal, causing the wounds.

A veterinarian who treated the dog stated that it died as a result of its injuries. However, although an autopsy on the body had been suggested, authorities failed to perform one on Monday evening.

A local journalist contacted animal activist Kaveri Rana, who is also a member of the and Gaushala Committee, about the injured dog. According to a reporter from Dankaur, a firecracker may have been strung to the animal’s tail and set on fire.  When they took the dog to the centre, it had seizures and significant burns on its legs. So it’s likely that somebody popped a cracker close to the animal. It has a head injury as well. The dog couldn’t walk. Therefore the head needed to be supported.

She alerted other campaigners and requested them to raise the issue with the appropriate authorities. The dog was subsequently transferred to Sector 61 Hospital. The dog had significant burns on its rear legs, according to Dr. Vikas Sharma, who treated the dog. “I requested that the dog’s X-ray, ultrasound, and blood tests be done right away,” he explained.

The dog was transported to CFCU Vet in Ghaziabad because these canine examinations were not available in Noida.

Doctors had told them that the head damage was caused by accident, according to Arvind Pathak, SHO of Dankaur police station. However, when asked about the burns and the autopsy recommendation, Pathak stated that no complaints had been received thus far.

The investigation is in progress.
