It’s heartbreaking to lose your dog, and the same happened in January 2019 when Camille the Pit Bull disappeared. The pet mom, Emily Dansey, reported that someone stole Camille from her property. Even though Emily had some guesses about where her lost pooch could be, she lacked evidence.
Being a dog mom, Emily was heartbroken for 2 whole years and begged to return her lost dog. But in 2021, it came out as a surprise when one day, Camille returned home. It was not a beautiful reunion Emily was expecting as she saw a lot of health problems and injuries Camille sustained during her time away. Emily didn’t want her little pooch to suffer more, so she’s now doing everything that she can.
At last, found her
Emily feared the most as two years a very long time to find her little furry friend. One day, she got a call from Fluvanna SPCA stating her description about Camille to match the dog they found; she straightaway went to the shelter’s website to check and found her.
“As soon as I saw her, I knew. I had not one doubt, ”Emily said. “I found Camille. I’m going to get her.”
It was not the kind of reunion Emily hoped because of the injuries Camille had; she was in a lot of pain. But of course, she was happy to see her mom and Emily’s kids, who were her play buddies.
“She didn’t look good. She was extremely dehydrated. She was found in a ditch where she had been apparently for two days. She has a broken leg. Her heart was enlarged,” Emily said.
Donate and help to save Camille
Camille has already received the essential vet care needed, but the surgery is still underlying. The surgery of Dansey’s pup will cost her thousands of dollars that she cannot afford at the moment. The family is planning to hold the surgery till they raise enough amount.
“She has been given the OK for surgery, so now we’re waiting it out trying to raise the money to do it,” Emily said.
Camille is now on her mission to make up for the lost time. She is loving and playful with the family members as she was. The little pooch is also spending a lot of time playing with the kids as she has returned. Emily hates to see her in pain and hopes to gather enough money for her little pup’s surgery.
We would like to request all the pet owners to ‘Keep your dogs safe’ because you never know when a mishap like this could happen so it is better safe than sorry.
