Pet Food Recalled | Stop Feeding This Dog Food To Your Pet Dog

A recall of pet food owing to Salmonella contamination is equally as essential as human food recalls resulting from the pathogen’s discovery in regular sample tests. Furthermore, a Salmonella infection can affect anyone, not only dogs. People who touch their pets’ food may become ill as well. This is why the Woody’s Pet Food Deli recall is something to keep an eye on. If you bought “With Supplements” Raw Cornish Hen pet food, you must stop feeding it to your pooch right away.

Woody’s Pet Food Deli is a deli that sells pet food. The recall was announced a few days earlier by Woody’s Pet Food Deli. The news statement was also posted on the US Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) recalls website.

Buyers of Raw Cornish Hen pet food “With Supplements” from two specific lots were advised to stop using the product immediately. Salmonella infection was discovered during a routine FDA checkup. The FDA testing was prompted by a customer complaint about a different, undisclosed product, according to the business.

The following Raw Cornish Hen “With Supplements” lots have been recalled by Woody’s Pet Food Deli:

  • PLU Code 5230, expiration date 11/20/22, 5 pounds. plastic tub
  • PLU Code 1652, expiration date 11/20/22, 15 oz. plastic container

These items were available for purchase in the company’s retail locations in Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and Woodbury, Minnesota. Although the pet food recall is small, it occurs at a time when individuals are visiting friends and family. Even someone who does not own a puppy or who does not buy pet food in Minnesota could be at risk.

Symptoms of Salmonella in dogs and people

Salmonella can infect animals that eat the recalled Woody’s Pet Food Deli items. Affected pets may show signs of illness such as lethargy, diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Other animals may not show any signs of illness. They can, however, still contain the disease. They could even infect humans and other animals.

In humans, symptoms may include nausea, puking, diarrhea (including bloody diarrhea), abdominal cramps, and fever. Salmonella infections can, in rare situations, cause serious illnesses that necessitate medical treatment. Arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle discomfort, eye irritation, and urinary tract infections are just a few examples.

If you bought the product from one of the two lots listed above, you should instantly stop feeding it to your dog. According to the notification, you can return the unused amount for a full refund. Alternatively, it should be thrown away immediately.

You should also clean the refrigerators where the product was stored. Similarly, all bowls, cutlery, kitchen area, pet bedding, toys, floors, and other surfaces with which the recalled pet food may have come into contact should be cleaned and disinfected.

In addition, Woody’s Pet Food Deli stresses the importance of cleaning up surfaces that have come into contact with pet feces. They can support bacteria. The removal of excrement from parks, yards, and other areas is critical. Other animals and humans may contract Salmonella illnesses if they come into touch with the excrement.
