3 Homemade Winter Treats For Dogs

Winter is a lazy time for all of us. It is a lazy time for our dogs as well. During winters their outdoor activities slow down. Pumpkin is the most common vegetable that is easily available during this season. Dogs love to eat pumpkins if you give them in a creative way. Pumpkin and banana dog treats will be easy on your pockets too.

Ingredients

  • One ripe banana.
  • Half fresh pumpkin puree
  • One teaspoon honey
  • 1 ½ cup whole wheat flour.
  • Take half a teaspoon of baking powder.

Take a ripe banana, pumpkin puree, and honey and mix them in a bigger bowl. You can use your hand to mix it well.  Now add a given amount of flour and baking powder to the mixer to make the dough a bit dry. Sprinkle some flour over your cutting board and make smooth rolls.

Spread the rolls like bread and cut them in required shapes and sizes with cookie-cutter molds. Bake these cut cookies in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes until the cookies become a light golden color. Cover the cookies dry with parchment paper before placing them in the oven.

Take cookies out from the oven and let them cool at room temperature.  Store the cookies in an air-tired jar to keep them crunchy.

Carrot is already a healthy food for both dogs as well as humans. Carrots are rich in vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, vitamin B8, pantothenic acid, folate, potassium, iron, copper, and manganese. It’s a delicious treat for your pet dog. A combination of carrot and apple also makes for a yummy dog treat.

  • ½  cup puree of Carrot
  • 3/4Unsweetened applesauce or fresh apples
  • Brown sugar
  • One egg
  • 1 ¾ cup Wheat floor
  • ¼ cup of Oats.
  • One teaspoon honey
  • One teaspoon Cinnamon

To make carrot plus apple dog treat. Grind carrots and apples together in a mixer grinder to form a puree. Take the puree and mix them with oat, brown sugar, honey, and cinnamon in a large bowl and mix it well. Add wheat flour and egg and smoothly stir them to make a smooth dough.

Now prepare the dough for biscuit cutting.  Spread flour over the countertop and make bread with a pizza wheel. Cut the bread in required shapes and keep them in 375 degrees Fahrenheit preheated oven for baking. Bake them for 10-15 minutes.

If you want the cookies to be crunchy, bake for 25-30 minutes.  However, make sure that you don’t burn it. Check the cookies around the 20-minute mark to ensure crunchiness.

  • Three teaspoons of Peanut butter
  • 1 ½ cups of oats.
