It was quite a rude awakening for the residents of Mumbra on a Sunday evening. Thirteen dog bite occurrences occurred in Mumbra within three hours.
On Sunday night, seven people were being treated at Mumbra’s Bilal Hospital. The dog van of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) is on the hunt for the dog guilty of the bites.
Dr. Kshama Shirodkar, a TMC’s Veterinary officer, said that they received complaints from residents over the phone. They immediately dispatched a dog van to catch the dogs, as the residents had requested. However, the dog van has yet to locate the aforementioned dog responsible for biting 13 people.
Officials have visited the scene and are investigating whether one or more dogs were involved in the incident.
